About MOC Tracker
Hi! I'm the creator of MOC Tracker, and this is the story of how this project came to be.
The Backstory
By day, I'm a software engineer building analytics tools for the music industry. I spend my working hours diving deep into data, building dashboards, and helping people make sense of complex information. It's what I love doing.
A while back, something unexpected happened: I fell back in love with LEGO. What started as a nostalgic curiosity quickly turned into a full-blown obsession. Before I knew it, I was spending hours browsing Rebrickable, discovering incredible MOCs, and being amazed by the creativity of the community.
Scratching My Own Itch
As someone who loves data, I quickly became frustrated. I wanted to find trending MOCs, discover which builds were gaining popularity, track my favorite designers, and explore the community through a data-driven lens. Rebrickable is an incredible resource, but its search and discovery features didn't quite match what I was looking for.
So I did what any engineer would do: I built my own tool.
MOC Tracker started as a personal project to scratch my own itch. I wanted to see daily rankings, track how MOCs perform over time, discover hidden gems, and find designers whose work resonated with my taste. What began as a simple script evolved into the platform you're using today.
Built for the Community
Once I had something working, I thought: why keep this to myself? If I found value in these insights, maybe other LEGO fans would too. So here we are.
MOC Tracker is my way of giving back to a community that has brought me so much joy. Whether you're a designer looking to understand what resonates with the community, a collector hunting for the next great build, or just someone who loves browsing beautiful creations, I hope this tool helps you discover something amazing.
What's Next
MOC Tracker is a passion project, and I'm constantly thinking about ways to improve it. If you have ideas, feedback, or just want to say hi, I'd love to hear from you.
